Deathbed

What a miserable 2 days it's been! I woke up on Tuesday morning with a sore throat and I just knew I was getting Brian and Abby's cold. My throat got worse as the day wore on and by the time I went to bed, I started getting some congestion.....and then the real fun began! I woke up around 2am shaking with chills. I felt really nauseous, but there was no way I was getting out of bed when my body was so cold! I dozed back off and minutes later woke up again with the pressing need to get sick. So, I got out of bed and almost crawled to the bathroom and got sick. I practically ran back to bed just to get back under the covers. When my alarm went off, I was determined to at least make an effort to go into work since I had a seminar to get breakfast and lunch for. Still shaking, I got up and got in the shower and almost passed out. I got out of the shower and threw up. It was then that Brian said you're crazy and you're not going to work! I had almost a 103 degree fever. I called my parents to see if they could come a few minutes early to get Abby dressed since I knew I wouldn't even be able to do that. (she's generally awake by 7, so I almost always have her dressed by the time they get there) I stayed in bed and slept off and on until about noon. I got up to take some medicine. Abby cried for about 10 minutes when I went back to bed. My fever finally broke in the afternoon, thank goodness! I haven't been that sick in years! It was awful! Brian and Abby weren't that sick, so I don't know where I picked up the "extra" stuff. I now just have the congestion and a tad bit of weakness. Fun stuff!

There's really not much to tell since Monday....Tuesday was pretty much just spent with a sore throat and busy at work. Abby has been an absolute brat the last week or so! She's driving us crazy. EVERYTHING warrants a tantrum and it's getting on my nerves. I'm having a very hard time remembering that this is normal b/c all I really want to do is beat her! Okay, not beat her, but give her a very memorable spanking!

Was AI sad last night or what? Showing all those poor children in Africa. Especially that little 12 year old boy who basically played Dad to his little sister since their parents were dead. It's just sad! I loved how Ellen Degeneres said she was donating $100,000 and she challenged every celebrity to do the same! All in all, it was a good show! I hated what they did to Jordin! So not nice!

So, I was royally ticked at my MIL on Tuesday. Abby's had this cold and I've been giving her the infant's Tylenol Cold. Well, I told my MIL before I left for work that I gave Abby some when she got up and she could give her more at 11am if she hadn't gone down for her nap yet. So, I call around 9:30 to see how Abby's doing and my MIL mentions she gave Abby more Tylenol! What???? It's only been 2 hours since the last dose! So, I'm angry at this point. I don't know how many stories I've heard about babies dying from cold medicine overdose. I called her doctor and they said she'd most likely be fine, but it can sometimes cause hallucinations. I called back to tell her that and to watch Abby closely and she said my SIL had told her to give Alli Tylenol and she was thinking it was me. Whatever....you need to pay more attention!!!! She did call me this morning and ask if it was okay to give Abby Tylenol, so I think she learned her lesson!

That's all I can think of for now....Missy, Jodi, and Mandy, have fun at Women of Faith- Kelley, I hope you can get a sitter and go do your women's thing tomorrow night- Josy, hang in there. Hopefully the meds started helping again so you're not getting sick- Love you all!
