I took Abby to the doctor on Thursday and when I got her there, I noticed she had broken out in a rash. I mentioned it to the nurse and when the doctor came in, she looked her over and said she was allergic to the antibiotic she was on. (amoxicillin) She said it can take a couple of times being on it for it to show up. So, that was the first thing we diagnosed. Then she decided to go ahead and have Abby tested for chicken pox and TB since she had been exposed to both in the last couple of months. She also ordered x-rays, so off we went to Children's urgent care to get those done. It was the most traumatic experience yet. I had to hold her head and arms down and the nurse sand-bagged her legs. Abby was struggling so much and freaking out that I was almost in tears. We both eventually got through it, though, after the neck and chest x-rays. I got the results back yesterday and the neck x-ray showed inflamation in her tonsils, so they're referring us to an ENT doctor. I REALLY hope she won't need her tonsils out this early. I don't think she will, but I'll get to that in a minute. So, I had to take her back today so they could check her arm for the results of the TB test. (they injected something into her arm and can tell the results by looking at it after 2 days) So, I took her back this morning and while we were there, she broke out again and I asked the nurse if that was normal or if it just takes awhile for the meds to get out of her system and she suggested we see the doctor. So, I paid $20 for the second time this week for the doctor to tell me it was normal and it will probably happen off and on for 2 weeks. The good thing is that she looked at Abby's tonsils and didn't think they looked alarmingly enlarged. She said the x-ray could have shown them a little larger than they actually are. So, that was some good news. Oh, this was a different doctor, by the way....not her normal one. She did say we could up the Zyrtec dosage and maybe that would help the hives. I gave her the higher dosage tonight and she broke out really bad after her bath. Oh, well....hopefully it will be over soon.
So, that's the scoop on that. We went to Walmart this morning and bought Abby a potty chair. I really am not confident that she's ready, but we know we'll need it eventually so why not introduce it and see what happens? So far nothing. ha ha!
Hope you all are having a good weekend! Josy, I hope Claire has entered the world! Love you all!

Oh Sara. I am so sorry. I'm sorry you had to go through that alone and sorry that Abby is having such a hard time with this stuff. I'm so heart broken for you right now. Holding down a child for any reason is so hard....and for all those tests....I just want to cry for you.
I am happy that it sounds like the tonsils can stay right now. I hope that the hives don't come back, but if they do, I'm glad that it's okay and nothing to be too concerned about.
Praying for you....and your little Piglet!
Lots of Love!
