Well, I'm back from Michigan and trying to recover. We left around 2 on Friday and headed north. Piglet slept only for about a half hour. We ended up stopping twice. The first time was for me, but the second time was for Piglet. She was very fussy, so we gave her a break from the carseat. I took her into the bathroom to change her diaper and there was a girl scout troop that had stopped also. Well one of the leaders was an older lady who stopped to talk to Piglet. She told me that she had a 6 month old granddaughter, so we had a nice little chat. We got back on the road and made pretty good time, considering the 2 stops and some traffic we went through. We got to my aunt and uncle's and unloaded the car. I had to feed Piglet, so we went upstairs to the guest room and I fed her while Hubby put the pack-n-play together. Well, I finished feeding Piglet and I'm burping her and she throws up on me! It got on my shorts and the bed. Yuck! I cleaned that up and then we just visited with my family for awhile. We ate pizza and salad for dinner and my aunt made this wonderful cherry cheesecake for dessert. It was so good! Piglet slept really well. I put her down around 8:15 and she slept until about 6:30 or so and I just brought her back to bed with us after I fed her.
We got up Saturday and my aunt had quite a spread for breakfast. We had eggs, bacon, and buscuits. We sat around and tried to play a game. It was a DVD game of Dracula. It was really neat. After we lazed around for a bit, we all got ready and then my cousin, Hubby, Piglet, and me headed out for a drive around Ann Arbor. My cousin took us around and showed us University of Michigan. It's very spread out, so we just drove around and she pointed out some of the buildings and of course the big stadium. It was really neat. Hubby would love to go to graduate school there, but it's very expensive. It's something to keep in mind, anyway. We went to the mall and to a store called the M Den. Hubby got a Michigan coffee mug and we got Piglet a bib and socks. We have to expose her to her "roots"! :) So, we got back to the house and my uncle made his "famous" Jack Daniels steaks. He marinates them in Jack Daniels whiskey and a bunch of other ingredients. They were fantastic!!!!! No A-1 Sauce needed! We had some pie for dessert, which was really good too. After dinner, we sat down and watched the movie, "Secondhand Lions". It was really good! If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. It's a good family movie! There were a few cuss words, but other than that, it was great! Piglet didn't sleep well Saturday night. It took a couple of tries to get her to go down and then she woke up 4 times! I finally put her in bed with us at 5. We got up and got ready for church. We were meeting my cousin at her church. She praise sings, so she had to go early. We ended up leaving the house a little bit late, but we headed on our way. Well, to make a long story short (as if this isn't long enough already....) we took a wrong turn and ended up getting there 45 minutes late. We heard the closing prayer and song anyway.... So, after church, we headed back to the house and had lunch and then we said our goodbyes and headed home. Piglet did great on the way home. She slept for 2 hours and then played for a half hour and fussed the last half hour! We did discover that country music seems to calm her down. Hubby and I laughed about that b/c neither one of us like "honky tonk" music. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the newer country stuff, but not the older stuff. So, we got home and unpacked and then I went out and mowed. I was wiped out from driving, but I needed to get that done. We relaxed and then watched the movie, Derailed. It was a good drama. Definitely not a family movie....
Monday, we got up and took Piglet to get her 6 mos. pictures done. They came out really good. I'll post them when we get them back. We got a good one of her smiling in her portrait and then a smiley one in the bathtub. Too cute! We went to Penney's, so I glanced through the kid's section as we were leaving. They were having a good clearance sale. I got Piglet a pair of jean shorts for around $2 and then I got my niece-to-be an outfit. We left there and went to Walmart to do some grocery shopping. We got home, I fed Piglet, and then I headed over to the lady's house that is doing the alterations for my dress for the Nurse's wedding. I got home and cleaned and that's about it.
It was a great trip, but I'm glad to be home! It's much easier on Piglet too! Oh, I have to tell you this. When she kept waking up Saturday night, it was b/c she was turning over on her stomach and then getting frustrated when she couldn't turn back! The ornery child! My mom said that she put Piglet down for a nap today and her pacifier came out of her mouth and my mom couldn't reach it, so she gave her a different one that was in the crib. Well, when my mom went back into get her later on, the pacifier my mom gave her was on the floor and she had gotten the one out of reach and put it in her mouth. She's a smart cookie!
Sorry this is so long, but I had a lot to say! I'll try to catch up on everyone's journals. Hope you are all doing well!

Glad you had a nice visit! The UofM campus is GORGEOUS! I just love all the old buildings...and there is so much fun stuff to do in town. I have some great memories from there!!! Did you go the Briarwood Mall? I used to hang out there a lot when I went to school up there. Great memories!!!
Man, those steaks sound good! It is so fun to go to family's house for a weekend and be treated like royalty!!!
Can't wait to see Piglet's adorable pictures...glad she cooperated!
Glad you are back! Love ya!
Yes, we went to Briarwood! It seems like it's easier to get to stores in there compared to our malls.
So glad your trip was nice. Sounds like Piglet wasn't too bad. :) I had a hard time enjoying your journal today as we are DIE HARD BUCKEYE FANS!!! I wanted to go to school there but WSU was way cheaper. :)
Hope Piglet is getting back to her old routine after the trip.
Have a great day!
Those steaks sound SOOO good. Did you sneak one in your purse for me? LOL! I am so glad that you had a good time. Sorry about ya'll missing church. No wonder Piglet was cranky the last 1/2 hour...she was like "get me outta here"!!!!
I can't wait to see the pictures. I'm so glad you got one with her smiling. You'll love it!
Lots of Love!
