Perks

My boss and I went to a taste testing at the downtown Doubletree hotel today to try some foods for our Christmas party. Well, we had lunch with the sales and catering manager. In talking, she asked me about Piglet (she used to manage one of the other hotels we work with, so I've worked with her before) and anyway, something was mentioned about Hubby and me getting out and I said we don't go on "dates" much b/c we just can't afford it. So, she offers me tickets to the Schuster and a free hotel room for the night. Nice, huh? The only problem is that the only tickets she had left for Beauty and the Beast is for next Thursday night. It doesn't start until 8pm and Hubby has to be at work early the next day and work a 12 hour shift. That would be hard on both of us, having to get up early the next day. We'll see, though. I haven't talked to him about it yet. Since that's a "school night" she said just to let her know what weekend we'd like to use the room and she'd set us up. It's so nice to have contacts! Even if we can't use the tickets, we'll still get a free night out! I was just talking to Hubby yesterday about the fact that I think I'm ready to pawn Piglet off on the grandparents for a night. I desperately need some uninterrupted rest! It may come sooner than I think!

Surivor starts tonight and I'm excited, although I don't know how it will work with separating them by race. We'll see...

The receptionist called in sick today, so I've been covering the front desk. It kind of sucks, but at least I got to be gone for 3 hours at our taste testing. Thankfully she'll be back in tomorrow!

Umm...what else can I go on about? Piglet now loves animal crackers, but she's been such a mess! Normally we do a bath every other night, but it's had to be every night b/c of that. She gets dried cracker on her legs, arms, etc. Icky! The doc said we can give her some banana pieces or cooked carrots, but we haven't had those to give her yet.
