So, Abby had her first swim lesson last night. The gist of what they're teaching them is to kick their legs, float, and blow bubbles underwater. Abby did none of these last night, but maybe she'll learn! LOL. We got there and had to wait until the previous class was done and out of the water before we got it. So, it was time for the ABC Come Splash with Me class and we got in the pool. Abby seemed excited when we got in the pool, so that was good. The instructor started out by passing around a basket with these little toys inside and each child got one. Then the purpse was to throw it in front of the child and try and get them to kick their legs to get the toy. (obviously you're holding onto them while this is going on) Well, Abby didn't kick, but she reached for the toy. Then we sang a song. Then they handed out water rings and the idea was to have the child put their face through it and blow bubbles under the water...well, with their face on top of the water, if that makes better sense. Abby wasn't doing that either, but I was showing her and she thought it was funny when me or the instructor did it. Then we sang another song. Then we were supposed to try and get them to float on their back while holding them. Abby wanted to stick close to me, so I basically just cradled her to me on her back. Then we sang another song and it was kind of like "free time" with the parent and child. We just played around a little. Brian got there just after we started, so he was able to sit and watch. I think the grandparents will come at some point to watch and probably take pictures and video, if I know my Dad! All in all, it was fun and I think Abby had fun just being in the water. If she comes out of these lessons with one of these exercises nailed, I'll be ecstatic!
We got home after that and I made a chicken florentine Bertolli meal. Abby loves it! I cut the bow tie pastas in half and cut the chicken into tiny pieces and she just eats it with her fingers. She wolfed that down! If only she ate all her meals with that much excitement!
Brian signed up for Weight Watchers online last night. I was surprised! His parents have been on it for a couple of months and his Dad has lost about 30 pounds, so I think maybe that influenced him. I think it's awesome. I just hope he sticks with it. I'll have to do some research as to what to fix for meals and stuff. We're used to more quick and easy meals as opposed to healthy first, you know?
So, American Idol was totally AWESOME last night! Bon Jovi rocks and it was so cool to hear everyone sing his songs. I think everyone but Jordin was great! Don't get me wrong, she's my favorite and she's okay, but she didn't pick a good song. It will be tough to see who goes tonight. I think definitely Chris, but it may be a tossup to see who the other one is. Phil's been in the bottom 3 a few times, but he really did rock last night, so I just hope it's not Jordin b/c of that one bad performance.
On DWTS last night, I was disappointed to see John Ratzenberger go before Billy Ray. I'm sure Billy Ray's next week, though.
Well, that's about it for now. I'm running out at lunch today to try and find a new bathing suit. Mine is too big now (my crotch practically sags to my knees when it's wet...aren't you glad I told you that?) so I'm hoping I'll find something. I have a $10 off coupon for Jc Penney. Yippee!
Have a good day!

The swim class sounds like a lot of fun. I should have gotten Pita Pocket in a swim class, but I'm so not ready to be seen in a bathing suit yet.....you're a better woman than me.
I've thought about weight watchers too. Let me know how Brian does on it!
Jordin was NOT good, but I really hope she stays in the top 4! It just wasn't her type of music. I was actually impressed with Lakisha....but I still thing she'll be in the bottom!
Lots of Love!
I can't wait to do swimming lessons with Joe! Except for the "me in a swimsuit" part. When you get pictures post them! I know I'm just as bad about not posting pictures, but maybe if we start begging each other for pictures... speaking of.... you forgot to post the recipe for your chicken florentine whatever, LOL!!
Thanks for the visual of your swim suit...LOL! I hate buying those because they are so dag-done expensive! i hope you found one for a good price! The class sounds like fun...but I wouldn't be a fan of the picture/video opp. We used to have this rule in my parent's pool that there were to be no pictures unless you were under a 6....a size 6!!!!
Good luck to Brian...it is a good program and how I have been most successful! And you really don't have to alter your lifestyle drastically....he can eat whatever he wants - but everything he eats has points assigned to it....you get so many points a day and then you are done! It is good and pretty easy to follow.....but sticking to it is the hard part!!!
Love ya!
I bet she was so cute in the swimming pool. I really need to get Madison in swimming lessons and should've done it by now because when june hits we're so busy till august. Thats great about the weight watchers. I was married to Stew for 10 years before he ever wanted to try to loose weight and then one day he said he was gonna do something and lost 100 pounds in the year and has really only put about 30 of it back on. So its really up to them. I mean we all know that from our own point of view till we are ready to do something it won't get done. I really enjoy the south beach and the sugar free snacks really aren't that bad when its all you are allowed. I fast forwared through most of AI last night but wanted to see the results. Its getting so good can't wait for the next episodes. Hugs!!Have a great day!
