Stuff

Where to begin? I feel like I have a mishmash of stuff to say, so this may sounds like incessant rambling. Anyhoo....

Brian went to meet with the neurosurgeon yesterday...he's the one that did his back surgery. Our family doctor has been pushing Brian towards this procedure involving electrodes in the back. Well, he met with the neurosurgeon, who said that he wanted to verify that Brian would be a good candidate b/c he wasn't convinced it would help him, so he sent him immediately down for an x-ray. (his office is at the hospital) Then they talked about that or doing the fusion surgery that the doctor was so against last year. Here's the bad part about all of this.....if the doctor comes back and says that Brian's not a candidate for the electrode procedure and is willing to do the fusion, then we're in a pickle with me being pregnant, having the baby in July, and Brian starting back to school in September. If Brian doesn't go to school in the fall, we'll have to start paying his student loans which we can't afford, yet how could I expect him to wait to have the surgery when he so desperately wants and needs an end to all of this? I prayed about it most of my way to work this morning and just leaving it up to God and knowing he'll work out all the extra stuff....guess that's what I should do then, huh? lol.

My parents came over yesterday to watch Abby. My Dad can't really be left alone, so he came over with my Mom anyway. Watching him walk from the car to the house was pretty heartbreaking for me. He looked so old and frail and it just really broke my heart. Him making good progress and him being back to normal are two vastly different things. I just want to see my Dad back to normal and healthy again, you know? He still needs your prayers. He was told last week that it would be 3 months before he could expect to return to work and that was hard for him to hear. As of this point, once his vacation and sick days run out (which they may already have) he won't be paid for that time. His work doesn't have short term disability, so just more stress to add to the pile, but we're still thankful he's alive and with us! He was able to read to Abby yesterday. I guess he had her on his lap and she turned the pages for him. I bet that was a kodak moment!

We're working on potty training with Abby again. I started Saturday afternoon by letting her go naked (which she loves) after she woke up from her nap and telling her if she had to potty, then she had to go in her big girl potty and she did. She ended up peeing twice. Then Sunday after her nap again, we did it and she did pee a few times. She also pooped on the floor once...lol. I just don't think she knew it was coming, but she was doing well otherwise. Yesterday wasn't so good, but we're still trying. I just want her so badly to be trained before July!!!! She's capable, it's just her decision at this point. She did something funny yesterday. My Dad's nurse came to our house to check him out and I guess she took a liking to her b/c after the nurse left and was getting in her car, Abby ran to the door and shouted, "big hug! big hug!" Lol. Guess she's warming up to strangers, huh?

The lack of a 3rd bedroom in our house is becoming a stressor again for me. I really wanted this time to put the baby in the crib sooner than we did with Abby, but with them having to share a room, I don't see how we can do that. I don't want the baby waking Abby up in the middle of the night. This is all just so frustrating! With the market the way it is, it may be easier for us to buy another house than to sell ours, but we aren't ready to sell right now. There are just things that need to be done before we could think about showing it and with Brian's back and me being pregnant, we just can't do it right now. I know I just need to suck it up and deal with it. At least we have a house, right?

So, that's pretty much what's been going on with me. Just a lot of prayers needed for many things. I hope you all are doing well! Congrats to Mandy on a beautiful baby boy!!!

Oh sweetie! I'm so sorry that there is so much stress right now. On the student loan part, can you defer (sp) it? When we moved to Ohio, we had to do that to my student loans cuz we just couldn't afford it at the time. It still adds up in interest and it's not the best senario, but it helped us at the time. Something worth checking into.

I know that Brian's back has become such a burden for all of you. When do you find out if he's a candidate for the procedure?

Maybe you could look at moving after the baby. I've read so much about how the market will still be like this next year....maybe worse. Ya'll might could get something that you WANT instead of just afford...what I mean is want AND afford. Does that make sense? That's what we're looking at.

I'm sorry there's so much stress. Satan likes to add that through so much of the good times. I'll be praying!!

Lots of Love!

Praying praying praying for you!

Would getting a bassinet for your room and keeping the baby there until he's sleeping most of the night work for you? Otherwise you just might be surprised what Abby will sleep through. Most nights when Claire gets up, Joe doesn't even wiggle.

Wow. You guys have a lot of stuff going on. I'll definitely be keeping you in my prayers. But I have to say...pooping on the floor is funny. I know it's not for you, but it did make me laugh. Keep your chin up!
