Friday

Work was work yesterday. Covering the phones stinks, but I don't have much choice. Unfortunately since I was the receptionist before I became admin. asst. they see it as my responsibility to still cover the phones when necessary (assuming I don't have a seminar or something going on). The front desk has been so busy, that at least the time flies.

So, I got home last night and my MIL had made us roast with carrots and potatoes and corn and rolls. What a good MIL! There were a few mishaps yesterday with feeding times and the wrong size diapers. I was really mad about her messing up the feeding times yesterday, but I partly blamed hubby since he should have told her to stick to it. I got over it, though. She also gave us a Kroger gift card since she knew we were broke. They are really good to us, so I shouldn't complain about things like feeding times, etc.

So, we ate dinner and then hubby gives me "the letter". The city of Kettering was kind enough to send us a certified letter telling us we need to get our sidewalk fixed and they will "kindly" do it for us for $1300.00 or we can hire our own contractor by March 31. How nice of them to give us a little more than a month's notice! There's a tree out by the street that has caused our sidewalk to become very uneven. Of course we don't have $1300 or anywhere close to that, so hubby's parents said they would help us out. I'm hoping "helping us" means they're paying for it b/c Lord knows we don't have an extra cent right now. We have the option to add it onto our property taxes, but it's got a high interest rate and we won't be able to afford it then either! What a headache!

Piglet went to sleep ok. She was awake for a little bit and I had to go in to turn her aquarium on, but she eventually went to sleep on her own and didn't wake up until a little after 5! I was very grateful since I'm still not feeling great.

Sunday we're driving down to Williamstown, KY to my great aunt and uncle's church since my great uncle is retiring from the eldership and teaching. They're doing a special service for him and having a lunch afterwards. My family from Michigan is coming down too, so it will be nice. My great uncles (I have 2 down there) aren't in the best of health, so it may be the last time we see them. Of course it will be neat for them to see Piglet too! So, alas, I won't see any of you at church on Sunday. :( I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I'll tell you what I would do with that letter.....but it won't look good if I say it online! LOL! I think that is horrible. I would send that back and say "you know what? I pay taxes....and it is for stuff like that, so YOU FIX IT". I would fight for them to fix it. That is ridiculous!
Lots of Love!

No point in trying to fight it. We tried a couple of yrs ago when they forced us to fix ours. Sorry. There is some kind of law that allows them to do this...

I'm so glad Piglet slept so well for you last night! How awesome! Maybe you should shake up her schedule a little more often?

We'll miss you Sunday. Much love!

What a bummer about the sidewalk? I had no idea they could do that. I am glad we don't have a sidewalk in front of our house. I used to want one....but not now!!!!! I think Hubby's uncle(s) pour concrete...wonder if they could do it for cheaper? I don't know much about that kind of stuff. hmmmm..

Sorry we will miss you on Sunday! I am sure it will be a fun Sunday with family, though! Take care! Have a good weekend. Love ya!
