Yeah, so I'm frustrated with work today. I know I've talked about it before in bits and pieces, but my boss and I had a great relationship last year. Well, really it wasn't b/c she never should have made friends with Emily and me. Does that make sense? Anyway, she was always very easygoing and as long as we did our jobs, she was very lenient. We'd all go to lunch together and sometimes take more than an hour, etc. You get my drift. So, she started cracking down on Emily last summer and Emily finally got fed up, not knowing if she was trying to push her out and confronted her about it. Ever since then she hasn't had any "talks" with her about anything etc. Well, for me, is started at the beginning of the year. I used to be able to get overtime at certain busy times and now it's no more. That may not sound like a big deal to you, but I know other departments get it, so why am I different. Anyway, there have been a few different things. Well, today, she calls me in to "talk". I HATE THAT! So, I go in there and she just wants to give me a friendly warning that I've had several unscheduled absences this year. Now, this could mean calling in sick, leaving early for a doctor's appt. that was made that same day, etc. I would say most of my "unscheduled absences" have been due to last minute doctor's appts whether it's been Abby who's been sick or me or whatever. So, I basically say that since the majority has been due to sickness and doctor's appts, how should I fix this and she couldn't even give me an answer. She just wanted me to know that it could become a problem in the future if it keeps up. Well, I'm sorry but I'm not going to wait a day to take Abby to the doctor if she's sick just to give you a day's notice! It just really ticked me off! Not to mention that my review is next month and I'm planning on asking for a bigger raise, so something like this could be brought up against me and that would suck big time! It's just so frustrating!
Okay, I promise this won't all be a "debbie downer" post....
So, I'm officially on Weight Watchers now. No, I didn't pay to join. Brian has all of the materials and info, but all I was missing was how many points I should have a day since it's based on weight and they tell you that when you sign up. So, anyway, yesterday I was talking to my cousin, Lesley, through email b/c we talk everyday, and she mentioned she never actually joined WW, but she had all the materials. Well, in asking her how she knew how many points she should have, she said she had a little chart that told you, so I told her my weight *gasp* and she told me how many points I get. So, there you have it! I started today writing down everything I eat and how many points, so go me! Monday night, I made myself take Abby on a walk and last night I mowed the yard, so I figured that counted as extra exercise.
Speaking of Abby, she was in meltdown mode last night! I think she was just tired, but man, did she cry at the drop of a hat and big tears at that! After Brian got home, she was having a huge crying fit and he picked her up and held her and all of a sudden she fell asleep with her hands over her eyes. Poor thing! We only let her sleep about 15 minutes since it was so close to her bedtime. I'm not sure why she was so tired.
I had a dentist appt. yesterday for a checkup and cleaning. My dentist said I had beautiful teeth. Don't be jealous now! ha ha! I hate the gap I have, but that's cosmetic, so I'd have to pay out the ying-yang to get it fixed. I just want to thank my 2 older brothers for hogging the "braces fund" so that when it go to me, we couldn't afford it! Thanks, guys! :) Anyway, no cavities. They still are bugging me to get my wisdom teeth out, but insurance only pays a portion and we can't afford it. I guess until they start bothering me, I'll keep all the wisdom I can get! So, after my appt. I went by Meijer to look at this play thing my in-laws are getting for Abby. It's a Little Tikes Swing and Slide Castle. They were going to get it a couple of weeks ago when it was on sale, but they never got there, so my MIL said they'd still get it. The only problem is that the box is HUGE and it won't fit in our car and their van is full of SIL and BIL's stuff right now until they get moved into their house. I'm anxious for Abby to have it and be able to start playing outside!
I got home yesterday and took advantage of MIL being there and mowed the grass. With the lack of rain, it wasn't too bad, but I'm kind of anal, so I mowed it. Then I clipped Alli's nails. I guess the first and only time SIL and BIL did it, they cut her and she bled and screamed, so since then I've done it for them. LOL. I'm a pro now. I just grab her little hand firmly and snip away!
My MIL brought me back a pendant from Cancun. It's an amethyst with little diamonds around it. I know that jewelry is very cheap down that way and it's beautiful! She got my SIL one similar with her birthstone, I believe. Well, I can't think of anything else to ramble about, so Happy Hump Day!

Holy... that was a lot of "stuff"! You made me appreciate that my boss is so easy going about when I have appointments, etc. Some places are incredibly anal about stuff like that - those are the places that should only hire single people without children. Life happens.
I am so jealous of your beautiful teeth! LOL
I wonder what's going on with your boss. I would ask her about it...but maybe after next month's meeting. We saw this a lot when Hubby worked in sales....in 99% of the cases, something big was going on with that person and they would take it out on the people at work. I agree with you though....you don't want to wait a day just so your boss can know. She must not understand the importance of kids getting sleep! I hope it works out for you and I hope you get that big raise too.
Yeah about Weight Watchers. I would love to do that! I did that before, but I gained it all back....I'm horrible when it comes to chocolate! lol!
Lots of Love!
Yeah, prayers over your boss & "stuff"...I hate it when bosses "change." But maybe Kelley's right...there could be something major going on in her life right now, either personally or professionally...Anyways, prayers, regardless!! :)
I need to make myself a dentist appt. soon...Only I think I have a cavity..."Wahh-wahhh"
Okay, better go...Love ya!! :)
