It's been a "fun" week....I'm totally dripping with sarcasm here! So, it all really started on Sunday with what I thought was allergies. I now have a full blown cold and it sucks. On a positive note, I stepped up my workouts this week, despite being sick. Monday after work I got on the treadmill and walked/ran a mile and then Tuesday after work Abby and I went out for a walk since it was so nice outside. We're doing a "Biggest Loser" challenge at work. Terry, the accounting manager sent an email to all the ladies about it. All participants will throw in $25. We start Monday and weigh in and then the competition ends in September (3 months). The winner with the highest % of weight loss will win 75% of the pot and the runner up will get the remainder. Nifty huh? We did this a few years ago and I won, so I'm hoping to win again! The money is a HUGE incentive! So, anyway, that's why I'm stepping up my workouts and I've told Brian he needs to get back on WW so we can basically do this together. Diana, my boss, is doing it too, so we'll be accountable to each other at work and then Brian and I can be accountable at home. I'd love to lose about 30 more pounds, so we'll see!
Yesterday was quite the day! I got to work and all was normal until around 9am. I got a call from Brian saying he wasn't feeling well and he had gone over to the PAT department and had one of the nurses check his BP. It was 180/112. There happened to be a heart doctor nearby who, after seeing that, suggested he go straight to the ER. So, Brian called me and protested and I made him go and told him I'd meet him there. The good thing is that we got right in, but then had to wait forever for everything else. They did an EKG and gave him a shot of morphine to see if his BP would go down. After being there for about 3 hours, they checked his BP again and it was down, but the doc still considered it high. He wants Brian to see a family doc immediately. His feeling is that Brian will need to be put on BP meds, so we'll see. Jodi, yes, I was thinking of you during that whole experience! We got home a little after 1. I took my Mom home and grabbed some lunch for us. Brian went to bed and slept all afternoon. Abby and I eventually went to the grocery and got some stuff. I had to wake Brian up to eat dinner. He said his head was still hurting a little, but at least he wasn't dizzy anymore.
My dad took Tuesday and today off to watch Abby for us since the in-laws are in Cancun. Lucky ducks! It's not like I had to twist my dad's arm. He loves it! He brought Abby into my work on Tuesday, so I got to show her around. She was a little ham!!!! She smiled and blew kisses! I couldn't believe it! This afternoon is her 18 month checkup appt., so my dad is kind enough to bring her here for me since her doctor is only 5 minutes away. That will save me some time.
That's about all that's going on with me this week. I'm hoping I can get rid of this darn cold! I'm miserable! Praying for all of you!

So sorry you have a cold....but WOW. I am just so proud of you on your weight loss. I have got to get back on that....but just can't get motivated! Money would motivate me, that is for sure! So, good luck with that!
Yeah, I bet it was scary with Brian - I hope everything turns out alright....Scary stuff!!!
And aren't parents great? That is so nice of your Dad to help out - and like you said, I am sure you didn't have to twist his arm much!
Love ya!
What a great idea! Money's a great motivator for me too. Problem is, I'd gain it all back once the motivation is gone! :|
I hope the new family doc (you have found one, haven't you?) helps Brian out. I just pray for him all the time, he must be so discouraged having to deal w/ all this on top of the back pain!!! And for you too. It is no picnic living w/ a loved one in pain.
I love that Abby was so outgoing for you. How precious. Hope you got some pics.
Have a great night!
I also hope things are better with Brian and that you've found a family doctor (we don't have one either) That is fun that ya'll do that at work. Thats one place it would be nice if others were watching what they ate also then when ya'll have lunch it makes it easier. Looking forward to lunch with ya on monday have a good weekend. I'm in the nursery all morning this sunday see ya ;)
I love that idea! I wonder if I could make a bet with someone...wait....all my friends down here are skinny or pregnant...makes me sick...maybe Hubby would do that for me. I still need to lose some baby weight....FROM THE FIRST ONE! I'm going to check into it.
Sorry you're sick. I hate colds...especially in the summer!
Lots of Love!
