So, I'll start with Friday night.....had our girls night and we had a blast! We ate at P.F. Chang's and had a really good time. I got home and noticed that SIL had called, but it was too late to call her back.
So, Saturday morning, we were all up bright and early and I got ready for my hair appt. Right before I left, Brian called SIL and as I suspected, she wanted us to watch Alli while they moved stuff. Given that we couldn't really help them move, I figured it was the least we could do to help them, so we put our pool plans on hold to watch Alli all day. I told them I had a hair appt. and I'd call when I got back. The girl at Jc Penney did a really good job. I could tell she knew what she was talking about and yes, Kelley and Sherry, she did razor cutting on me. It's so nice to have my hair feel so much lighter without it look like a lot of length was taken off! I will definitely go back there. A good haircut is worth more money to me, especially when you have complicated hair like mine!
So, I got home and called Jeff (BIL) to tell him I was home and he could bring her anytime. His Mom ended up dropping her off around noon after her nap. She really is a good baby, so she wasn't much trouble at all. Beth (SIL) finally picked her up around 6:30 or so. I'm sure Abby was glad to see her go! LOL. We got on her at one point for taking toys away from Alli, so then when she gave her something, we cheered, so she just kept bringing her stuff and dumping it in her lap so we would cheer again. LOL. After they left, we ran to McD's to grab dinner. Brian was craving one of their dipped cones, so he had dessert before dinner. LOL. I got Abby a cheeseburger hoping she would eat it, but after a couple of bites she wouldn't touch it. That girl is the pickiest eater I've ever seen! She wanted my fries, which I wouldn't share. ha ha!
Sunday was quite the eventful day, hence my title. We decide to go to lunch at Cracker Barrell, so we got there and just had a 15 minute wait and got seated and ordered our food. I got Abby a side of mac-n-cheese since I know she'll eat that. So, we get our food and start eating and I notice she has this little bump under her left eye that looks like a mosquito bite. I knew it wasn't there before, but I didn't think too much about it. Well, by the time she was done I thought it looked bigger. I took her to the bathroom to clean her up and take a better look and it's definitely grown, so now I'm starting to panic, thinking she's having an allergic reaction to something. All she had was the mac-n-cheese, which she's had a hundred times before so I couldn't figure out why that would bother her now. I got back to the table with her and I'm starting to panic and telling Brian we need to leave now and call her doctor. We finally get to the car and it's grown even more and I'm really trying to hold it together. I call her doctor's office and leave a message with the answering service to page the nurse on call. The whole time we're waiting, we keep looking back at her and it's just getting bigger and bigger. She doesn't seem bothered by it at all, but I'm freaking out! So, the nurse calls us back and I explain the situation and she says if it was a food allergy she would be breaking out all over, but this was just confined to her face. She thought it sounded like a reaction to a bug bite. Well, we were in Cracker Barrell for heaven's sake! What could have bitten her to cause an allergic reaction that I didn't even notice! So, she says to get Benadryl and give it to her and if it isn't better in a half hour to call back. We're right by Target so we go over there and I run in and get it and run back to the car and give it to her and by this time it's half covering her face and it's a little puffy. We continue on out to his parents since we were headed there anyway and we get there and put some ice on her face, which the nurse suggested too. This causes Abby to scream, of course, but her health is more important than her comfort at this point. Oh, I forgot to mention that by the time we made the 15 minute trip to his parents, it was covering the whole left side of her face and very puffy. So, after a little bit, we stop the ice so we can get a clearer view of whether or not it's better. She ends up falling asleep in my arms b/c she hasn't had a nap. We check after a few minutes and it definitely doesn't look worse, so that's a good sign. I held her for awhile longer and it looked like it was getting better, so I went ahead and put her down in the crib. She slept a good 2 hours and by the time she got up she looked 99% normal. Praise the Lord! We got to enjoy some pool time and she did too, so all was well after that. I checked on her about 50 times to make sure she was still breathing when she was sleeping. LOL.
So, after that ordeal, we headed home to change and go to Wilma's viewing. There were a ton of people there! The viewing was from 4-6 and it was around 5:50 by the time we got there and there was still a line up to the casket! My heart just breaks for that family and especially Dale, her husband. We paid our respects and got to see several people we hadn't seen in awhile. It was 7pm before we finally got out of there and there were still a bunch of people there!
We were very hungry and finally decided we'd pick up Penn Station on the way home (Weight Watchers? What Weight Watchers?). So, we're up ordering and there's a father with 2 boys behind us and then some other guy. Well, as we're standing there talking to the cashier, so notice a commotion behind me. I turn to look and there's a couple with their small child sitting there eating and the woman is cussing out the guy that's last in line for some strange reason. I'm still not sure if they actually knew each other or not, but she was cussing up a storm and saying things like he was talking *crap* , etc. I mumbled to Brian that it was really nice talk in front of your child! A manager came out and talked to her and either asked them to leave or they were already headed out. It was the weirdest thing! I heard the guy talking to the father behind us with the 2 boys and I couldn't hear what he said, but it sounded like he was baffled about what had just taken place, so who knows? Crazy people!
So, that was my weekend in a nutshell. Abby seems 100% fine today. I still don't know what could have bitten her or caused a reaction like that, but it scared the poo out of me! I'm so glad it's only a 4 day work week. Sure wish I had Thursday off too to enjoy the fireworks, but I'll actually have to be on the phones all day since the receptionist is off. Yuck!
Happy Independence Day!

Oh your poor Abby! I can't imagine what I would have done...yes I can...I would have been at the doctor AGAIN! lol! I'm so glad that it went away so quickly after the medicine and ice. And yes, who cares about comfort when it's their health! LOL! You crack me up!!!!!
I LOVE the razor on the hair. I need to get my haircut, but where I go doesn't use the razor...I wonder if Hubby could use it! It will make your hair feel SO GOOD!
I miss Penn Station.....send me some of their fries!!! I love their food and there is not one near here at all (crying). Even the Quizno's just closed a few weeks ago....sniff sniff!
Glad you had fun with the girls Friday night! And you are so good to keep the niece for a while....what a good in-law you are!
Lots of Love!
